Narrator’s P.O.V:
Yongha’s conscience swam in darkness as he walked down an empty, pitch black space. The familiar feeling of numbness dulled his senses, and for once, he felt peaceful.
*Where am I headed?* With every step taken down the path, he found himself slowly being bathed in dim light. He could see his hands before him, and he faltered when he did.
They were smooth, almost like a child’s. They no longer had wrinkles or veins that protruded from the sagging skin. It was as if he was a teenager again.
In the midst of his awe, he stubbed his toe on something and fell to the ground. “Ouch!”
“Need some help?” A pleasant voice asked. From the corner of his eyes, he could see a hand in front of him.
“Yes, please—“ Yongha took the hand before looking and eventually laid his hands on the person. When he did, his eyes almost fell out of their sockets.
In front of him was a man with chestnut brown hair, looking as young as ever. The male smiled courteously.
Yongha let his name escape his lips.
“Lee Byunghun...” He whispered, dumbfounded.
Whoosh! In one swift pull, Yongha was back on his feet. Byunghun jammed his hands into his pockets, with the same smile playing on his face.
“W-What are you… Where… A-Am I…” Fear belatedly tingled down Yongha’s spine as he gulped, “…d-dead?”
A familiar chortle followed right after, leading Yongha to freeze.
“That depends on you, obviously,” the feminine voice mused, and Yongha watched with uncertainty as Yooyeon, with her gorgeous dark locks, materialized before him.
Yongha couldn’t even bring himself to say her name. Instead, he just gawked. All three of them seemed to be in their prime – stuck in the past.
“This is crazy,” he finally murmured.
“That’s all you can say after so many years? That this is crazy?” Yooyeon crossed her arms, “I’m sorry to say that you haven’t changed one bit, Lee Yongha.”
“Y-Yooyeon, I…” He started.
“Ah, ah,” she held a dismissive hand up, “I’m not here to hear excuses,” she looked up at her husband, “And neither is Byunghun.”
“…What are you here for, then?”
Yooyeon gave him a queer look before quirking her lips in that way Yongha adored most, “We’re here to pick you up, oh smart one.”
Yongha’s mind was too chaotic to come up with a comeback, “So it’s true. I guess I really am dead…”
Byunghun stared at him for a while before he spoke.
“Are you?”
“Huh?” Yongha’s eyes flickered up to see both of them scrutinizing him. Then, Byunghun started to walk away. A bright light was now at the end of the darkness, and he seemed to be following it, “C’mon, Yooyeon.”
“Wait for me, honey!” She called, and began to tail him. Yooyeon turned around and presented Yongha with a wide, inviting smile, “Let’s go, Yongha!”
Yongha felt himself being drawn in, almost as if he was being coaxed. He took a step towards the light, when he heard a muffled shout.
“…father…”
*Who…* Yongha felt a jolt of electricity within him, and stopped in his tracks.
“Yongha, come on!” Yooyeon glanced over her shou
